Achieving Independence and Mastery in School - Outpatient (AIMS-O) is a group based intervention that consists of eight 90-minute sessions attended by both parents and their child.
AIMS-O is designed to be administered by 1-2 mental health professionals (e.g., psychologist, social worker, etc.) in an outpatient setting.
AIMS-O sessions target academic executive functions:
Session 1 - Understanding Academic Strengths and Challenges
Session 2 - Orientation to AIMS and Executive Functioning
Session 3 - Problem Solving
Session 4 - Behavior Agreements
Session 5 - Homework Systems
Session 6 - Study Skills
Session 7 - Summarizing
Session 8 - Maintaining Skills and School Communication
